Kim is a yoga therapist certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (C-IAYT) earned her Master of Science in Yoga Therapy in 2021 and has been a registered nurse (RN) for more than 18 years. As an RN, Kim has a broad understanding of illness and disease, as well as the suffering & discomfort often associated with it. Despite
challenges in Kim’s own life, yoga has undoubtedly been a constant conduit toward connection and peace. Her love of yoga combined with her experience in providing care for those with chronic and acute health conditions, inspired Kim to pursue this unique path in integrative health.
As a member of the health care community, Kim acknowledges allopathic interventions often do not address the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. She has found with some patients, after receiving medical treatment, pain and suffering persist, and often report feeling unwell, regardless of treatment and medical intervention. She acknowledges, Western healthcare culture often lacks an understanding of the importance of internal energy and a person’s sense of connection to purpose, self, and others. Yoga therapy’s approach integrates a biopsychosocial-spiritual process that enables healing, resilience, and transformative change by reconnecting you with who you are, beyond the pain, illness, and discontent.
